This growth, and the forthcoming retirement of a number of key logistics personnel, presented a challenge and an opportunity to ensure continued effective operations and to further develop the logistics leadership team for the increasing operational scale and complexity.
Davies & Robson and Hutchinsons jointly developed a specification for someone with the potential to grow with the business. This included the short term management requirements, future leadership needs, technical knowledge and the ability to support the Head of Logistics with analysis and project management work.

Focussing our search on graduate calibre transport managers with project management experience, there was also a need to identify an individual with a strong appreciation that the business thrives on high service levels as much as cost; with the ability to recognise this in the daily operations and future solutions development.
Following a dedicated and active programme of sourcing, filtering and interviews, Hutchinsons appointed a transport specialist with project management experience that also satisfied the key customer orientated culture fit of the business.
