Specialist in: Operational Turnaround, Relocation & Change Delivery
Steve is a highly experienced interim logistics and operations leader specialising in complex change programmes, site turnarounds, network transitions and large-scale operational projects. He is typically engaged where organisations need an experienced operator to take control of underperforming or high-risk environments and deliver defined outcomes at pace — including peak readiness, 3PL recovery, start-ups, WMS/process stabilisation and service recovery programmes. Steve is highly delivery-focused, data-led and visible on the floor, combining strong stakeholder management with disciplined execution. He is particularly effective in fast-moving, high-growth or pressured environments where service, cost and colleague engagement must be stabilised simultaneously.

Recent Interim & Project-Based Assignments
Most recently, Steve was engaged by clothing retailer in an interim consultancy role to advise on the operational turnaround of their 3PL distribution centre ahead of Peak 2025. He was embedded into the senior logistics team reporting directly to the Supply Chain Director and transitioned into the operational lead role on site, taking control of both eCommerce and retail operations. Steve agreed and implemented a new DC structure and peak recruitment plan, redesigned layout and stock recovery processes across c.27,000 SKUs, and embedded new operational and WMS procedures. Under his leadership, eCommerce output increased from 3,000 units per day to a record 27,000, while retail despatch volumes improved by over 200%, achieving a record daily output of 32,000 units.
Depth of Large-Scale Operational Experience
Steve’s experience includes being engaged by a major 3PL in an interim role supporting a critical programme for a flagship manufacturing client, drawing on extensive experience delivering complex logistics projects across both in-house and outsourced environments. He led an inventory migration as part of a site closure and relocation, owning inventory accuracy, transport coordination and stakeholder sign-off across internal and client teams. The project was delivered ten weeks early, under budget, saving £100k and with no disruption to manufacturing operations, before transitioning the site from hyper-care into stable BAU. Steve brings a strong track record across site turnarounds, closures and relocations, new DC start-ups, WMS implementations and large-scale restructures, including leadership of high-SKU retail and eCommerce operations, large workforces (1000) and multi-million-pound operating budgets — maintaining a highly operational, execution-focused style despite senior, PLC-facing experience.
