A large scale retail transport operation operated by one of the UK’s biggest 3PLs. An experienced Davies & Robson interim manager was engaged to turnaround the impact of the challenging commercials of this long term contract.
The brief was to take overall commercial and operational responsibility for the contract. This included board level customer account management. The objective of the assignment was to review all aspects of the contract and operation to increase its commercial viability.
Following an analysis of the commercial arrangements and operational commitments, James appointed management leads for a number of key work streams. Managing the project and operational teams, he was able to remove significant costs through process redesign, restructuring and the implementation of operational changes. His contract renegotiation with both businesses developed improved terms closer to a commercially viable solution.
